Who can use Willa?

Willa is for U.S. based creative professional freelancers, influencers, and social media content creators that get paid by brands to do freelance work and paid collaborations.

How do I get started?

Get the iOS app for iPhone and follow the instructions in the app to apply for an account. Willa is currently only available on iOS.

How do I get an invite?

You no longer need an invite to use Willa. Get the iOS app and apply for an account inside the app.

Do I need to have a company to use Willa?

You can, but you don't have to. Independent contractors can also use Willa. It works the same way.

Where is Willa available?

Willa is currently available in the United States. To use Willa, you need to have a permanent address in the United States, a U.S. based bank account, and a U.S. based phone number.

Willa is funded by a team of entrepreneurs with a background in finance, influencer marketing, and building popular consumer apps like Candy Crush and Spotify. We are funded by EQT Ventures and several other investors. Prior to founding Willa, the Willa founding team started and built influencer marketing agency Relatable.

Using Willa to send payment requests and collect payment from your clients is free. We charge a small fee for our Express Withdrawal and Early Cash Out features.

Funds in your Willa account can be transferred to your bank account or PayPal. A debit card is coming soon.

Yes, you'd simply send two separate requests. Either way, the money is available right away.

Can I invoice monthly with Willa?

Yes, you'd simply send an invoice every month. There's currently no support to schedule recurring payment requests.

How do you prevent fraud and is Willa safe to use?

I’m using PayPal today. How is this different?

Like PayPal, Willa let’s you invoice your clients with a few clicks.

However, Willa doesn’t stop there. We also take care of all the paperwork connected to invoicing, and our professional collections team will help you collect on any late client payments.

That’s right, we have actual human beings working tirelessly to ensure you get paid on time!

And if you need money upfront you can use Willa Cash Out to get paid immediately for qualified invoices for a small fee.

The Willa difference is that you never have to send another payment reminder, spend time or mental bandwidth stressing out about unpaid invoices. It’s like having your own finance department.

What happens after I request a payment in the app?​

Willa handles all your paperwork, generates a professional invoice and takes care of the payment process for you.

After review, you will be notified if your request qualifies for a Cash Out, where you can get all or a portion of the payment request paid out immediately

When your client pays, your Willa balance will be immediately updated to reflect the payment.

Any Willa Cash Out fees are deducted from the client’s payment.Your client doesn’t pay any fees to pay you through Willa.

A gem 💎 is an invoice credit that can be applied to your next payment request to waive our small fee.

Can I cancel payment requests I've made?

Yes!

You can cancel any payment request up until the client has paid. This is useful for situations where you, for instance, mistype the amount. It can happen to the best of us!

Does this cost anything for my client?

No.

How does my client pay?

Your client can pay their invoice any way they'd like. We currently offer wire transfer, PayPal, check, or card payment.

I’m based in the U.S. but my client is overseas. Can they still use Willa?

Yes.

Will my client need to install the app?

No. Your client can use their own payment process.

If my customer has their own system, how will it work with Willa?

Your client has the option to pay with a bank wire transfer, check, PayPal or debit/credit card. Your contact person can pay directly or forward the payment request to their finance team.

Do I need to convince my clients to use Willa?

No. They'll get a professional invoice sent from Willa on your behalf.

What happens if my client pays late?

We help you collect on late payments, and once your client pays, you have instant access to your money.
