This week I've been working on the Sock Monkey Christmas Stocking again. It was my first ever try at using doublepointed needles, and now that I've been working on socks for awhile, I can tell that I didn't do a very good job. I didn't tighten the stitches when I changed needles, and I think the needles are a little large for the yarn I was using, but heck, it's a Christmas stocking, and it's good enough. I want to finish it this week so I can hang it up at work. You never know, Santa might come.

After being so worried about whether my wooden needles would cause problems at the airport (they didn't), and obsessing over which colors of sock yarn to take with me and which size needles and which patterns, I didn't knit a stitch on vacation. Not one. Well, actually, yes, I did do a swatch, a 2x2 inch swatch on number 2 needles just to see if I could stand to go down a size, and it was okay, so I think I'll do the next Fixation sock on No. 2's.

But since I didn't start anything, now I'm thinking what I should actually do is go finish my Sock Monkey Christmas stocking so I can hang it up in my office. I would have brought it with me this morning, but I can't remember where it is, and I didn't have time to search. Oh well. I won't have any time to knit today, anyway. Still digging out . . .
