Cool! So it does work, which means that I could conceivably blog from my PDA when I'm traveling, i.e., I can send email from it, and I can get web pages, but I can't post directly since . . . well, I'm not totally sure why, probably because of the scripting involved in getting everything to work. Anyway, blogging by email could be very cool.
I turned the heel of my Fixation sock last night, and knitted the gusset over my lunch hour today. Tonight I'll probably work on the foot. One of the most interesting things about it is how much I love knitting with Fixation. I like the stretchiness of it, which seems to make small flaws and what could be holes seeminly disappear--it just sort of fills in better than non-stretchy yarn. Anyway, it's very cool, and maybe one of these days I'll actually have a sock . . .

I wonder what happened to all my titles. Sure as I go to try to fix it, it will get fixed by itself, so I will try to sit on my hands . . .

Testing out the "email to blog" capability--this has never worked before,
but on a whim I tried it last night on another blog, and it looks like it
worked, but I wasn't paying enough attention to really know, so I'm trying
it again here.

Monday, November 11, 2002:
I got eight balls of Fixation from Elizabeth's Fiber and Yarn Supplies over the weekend. Yes, even though I have yet to successfully knit one sock, I ordered enough yarn to make four more pairs! But it's not as though I won't be able to do it, it's just a matter of figuring out the optimum pattern. I bought one of the Cascade patterns at the yarn store over the weekend, and it says to knit the leg of the sock 6-1/2", because after washing and drying it will shrink to 4-1/2".
That's the first time I've seen that mentioned. Note that they said the leg only, not the foot (I don't think, I don't have it with me today), which would indicate that it shrinks lengthwise rather than widthwise . . . And honestly, unless you're drying it in a hot dryer, I can't imagine that.
Well, when I finish the one I'm doing, I'll just have to try it and see. And measure first! I bought another ball to match the whole one I already have, so the one I'm working on now can be the test case.

I haven't been doing a whole lot of writing here (or a lot of knitting, either) lately--most of my creative energies have been going into my NaNoWriMo novel. I hit 15,000 words last night, and then didn't write a word today. Oh well. I'll catch up. Being a glutton for punishment, I'm posting the novel online.
