Veer: Ideas: World
Build your own little world using the elements at the Veer: Ideas: World site. You can't really save anything independently -- you submit it to their review, and if they like it, they'll offer it as a desktop image. I took a screenshot of mine, though:
(Okay, actually I recreated it, then took a screenshot.)

What song is that?
I thought this sounded like a cool idea. If you have a Cingular cell phone, you dial a certain number (#43) while a song is playing on the radio, and then the service will send you a text message with the name of the song and the artist.
Radio stations never seem to give you any information at all anymore, so I can see this being useful.
However, when I went to the Cingular site to check it out, I see that it costs $.99 every time you use it. I can't imagine needing to know that badly.

Easter eggs
Interesting article about dyeing Easter eggs with natural dyes: Dyeing Easter eggs: semi- and totally homemade
Also, take a look at this rabbit! Monster rabbit terrorizing UK Gardens. (The rabbit in the photo isn't the rabbit, just a rabbit included for scale . . . )

Vegan Lunch Box
I really love this site: Vegan Lunch Box.
I'm not a vegetarian anymore, and I was never vegan, but I've gotten a lot of good ideas from the lunches this mother packs for her son, and I really just find it fascinating to see the contents of his lunchbox every day.

My Parrot Screams Like A Girl
Wonderful article about parrots: My Parrot Screams Like A Girl / This is your pet. This is your pet yelping and burping and chatting on the phone. All true
After a while you barely notice and the SO and I can be watching TV or talking in the living room and the bird will be yammering away in her own little world, conversing with the spirits for a solid half hour and unless she chimes in with a crystal-clear "I love you" or "Hello" or "What's up?" you just sort of tune it out the way a parent, I imagine, tunes out the sounds of the children imbibing lighter fluid and stabbing each other with little plastic forks.
