I emailed Amazon customer service to complain about the foregoing review in particular, and reader reviews in general, and I got an email back from them this morning that they will remove the offending review. I haven't checked, they said might take a few days, but that it would be removed. They also said that they do, to the extent of their ability, exert some editorial control over reviews. Obviously, with the enormity of the site, they can't do it alone, so I would encourage anyone who runs across a review that gives away the ending of a book, or that is obviously not intended to give a fair and useful review of a book, to report it to Amazon.
