Well, I carry too much with me almost all of the time. In my purse: car keys, keys for work on one of those
plastic sprirally things that fit around my wrist, keys to my mother's house, my watch (I refuse to wear it except
when I lecture or when I'm working in the hospital with
students), a small maglite flashlight, a purple pen, a Dr. Grip black pen, my wallet, checkbook, assorted credit
cards, cash and change, library card, license, registration, proof of insurance card, medical insurance cards,
book club cards (ie waldenbooks and Books and Co.), postage stamps, 4 prescriptions that I need to fill, receipts,
a menu from my favorite Chinese restaurant, Clinique guava stain lip stick, brown mascara, hand lotion, tissues,
a book holder, two clothes pins, my brown Levenger pocket briefcase with cards, mirror, a comb, Purely Fresh instant
anti-bacterial hand gel, dental floss (won't my dentist be proud), 2 Sweet Dreams tea bags, Imitrex (don't leave
home without it), and some hard candy.
In my briefcase I have any current projects that I'm working on, my Burgundy Franklin
dayplanner, another book holder, Imitrex, highlighters, some cheap pens, colored pencils,
my journal, at least one book (today it is Breathnach's Something More and Anne Rice's
Violin), tissues, peanut butter crackers, 7 IV angiocaths (I need to take them out but I needed them for an IV
lab), file folders, records on my clinical students, 5 CDs, and old clinical assignment sheets.
If I am going to be on campus, I may also have a lunch that I carry in a purple string bag.
