Needles: US Size 4

Yarn: Sirdar Denim Tweed DK - Denim Blue Marl

Cast on 48 stitches.

Work three rows of K2P2 ribbing, then work in garter stitch (knit every row) until piece measures 2-1/2" from beginning. Bind off.

Fold in half, sew up side and top seams, weave in loose ends, add tassets to top corners, put it on the bear!

Vest for Bears

Needles: No. 2 and No. 4

Yarn: Sirdar Denim Tweed DK - Denim Blue Marl

With No. 2 needles, cast on 36 for back of vest.

Work in K2P2 ribbing for four rows.

Change to No. 4 needles and work in stockinette stitch for 10 rows.

Decrease for armholes: bind off 4 stitches at beginning of next two rows. Continue working in stockinette stitch for 12 more rows.

On next row, knit 8, bind off 12 for neck opening, knit last 8.

On next row, purl the first 8 stitches, then put the last 8 stitches on a stitch holder and * continue working stockinette stitch on the first group of 8 stitches (the left front) for 12 more rows.

On the next row, cast on 4 stitches at the armhole edge and continue in stockinette stitch until the front measures the same as the back to the ribbing.

Change to smaller needles and work four rows of K2P2 ribbing, then bind off.

Pick up the stitches on the stitch holder and repeat from * for right front, reversing the shaping.

Pick up an even number of stitches along the right front, neck edge, and left front, then work three rows of K2P2 ribbing. Bind off.

Pick up an even number of stitches around one armhole edge, work three rows of K2P2 ribbing, then bind off. Repeat for other armhole. Sew side seams; weave in all loose ends.
