I'm still having fun with the iPod.
I'm playing around with making playlists, and found out that you can publish a playlist
to the iTunes store so that other people can see it and (theoretically) buy the music. Bob
thought that was a little strange, but I'm sure he already thinks I'm fairly
strange, so no news there . . .
I haven't finalized one yet, but I'm working on it. The problem as far as I'm concerned
is that it only publishes the songs that are actually for sale on iTunes, so more
obscure ones just don't show up. It's taking a bit of work to get a mix that I'm happy
with, and that also is available in the store, but I'm enjoying the process.
Bob left this afternoon on a weekend fishing trip, so I took the list I was already
working on, refined it a little bit so that it was kind of "road trip" themed, and threw together
a CD for him last night at around midnight. So he's got some of "my" music to listen to in
the car.
To wit:
- Too Many Angels - Jackson Browne
- 1952 Vincent Black Lightning - Richard Thompson
- Genius - David Knopfler
- Next Best Western - Richard Shindell
- The Sentinel - John Gorka
- King of Ashes - David Knopfler
- Steel River - Chris Rea
- Windy Town - Chris Rea
- Rollin' Home - Aengus Finnan
- The Kenworth of My Dreams - Richard Shindell
- Jack's Crows - John Gorka
- Silver Thunderbird - Marc Cohn
- Addy's Tattoo - Megan Slankard
- True Companion - Marc Cohn
Speaking of music, and the fact that I haven't had a contest in forever, I've got
a brand-new copy of David Knopfler's 2002 release, Wishbones, to give
away to someone. Since it was the soundtrack for my 2002 NaNoWriMo novel,
Fallen Angel, it seems appropriate to give
it away to kick off NaNoWriMo 2004. Just
email me before October 22 with "Wishbones"
in the subject line, and I'll randomly draw a name on November 1. I'll email whoever
wins and confirm a mailing address at that time.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
