Decorating
I decorated my office Monday. Well, just the window, mostly. Spiders and bats on the window, and an electric jack-o'lantern on the corner of my desk. And a little terra cotta pumpkin with a tealight in it, and a tall orange candle. I almost bought a box of purple bat lights at Target over the weekend, but restrained myself. Then last night I remembered I had a box of little purple "Christmas" lights in the basement . . . Maybe closer to the day.
I especially liked the little wooden bat hanger at the top of the window. I got it at Target, too. It has a very "Jack Skellington/Nightmare Before Christmas" look to it, I think.
I like the pumpkin, too. Gard's son Josh was in the office this evening, and he was fascinated by it. I wish I had had the camera then--I took these pictures yesterday--because it was rainy and dark today, and thus kind of dark and spooky in the office, and Josh stood with his face right up next to the pumpkin, and the orange light lit up his face ... very cool.
