Wednesday, October 4, 2000: Tired

So, yesterday it was around 90 degrees outside, and something like 100 inside, probably--the air conditioning was broken, or as the email from the office manager said, as I recall, "Broken A/C in the Mortuary."

I like hot weather, but my office has no windows, and no air flow at all, so although we had a big fan sitting in the doorway, it was terribly hot and stuffy all day. Everyone who came in had to remark that ours was the "worst room in the building" as far as temperature and uncomfortableness went.

It was really all I could do to stick it out the entire day. Monday had been the same. Today, though, it was around 50 degrees outside, and thus only maybe 80 in our office. I never did really figure it out. We had the fan in the doorway, and it should have been pulling in cool air, but it didn't really help. Still, it was much better than it had been the last couple of days, and I really didn't mind the incredibly strange fact that the temperature was around 40 degrees different than it had been the day before.

Partly due to the long hours I've been working the past couple of weeks, I think, and maybe partly due to the heat, I've been extremely tired, and I've gone home two nights this week and gone almost immediately to bed. I got 10-1/2 hours of sleep last night, which should be enough for anyone, I would think.

Someone made a remark the other day about vitamins, unrelated to anything in particular, but it made me remember that I had run out of iron tablets a few weeks ago and hadn't remembered to buy new ones. So tonight on the way home I bought iron pills and super b-complex vitamins, so maybe that will help.
