A couple of people wrote and asked, and I realized that I had forgotten to
mention, that I did buy The Sims' Livin' Large expansion pack last week.
I probably should have waited for Christmas, but I generally buy myself
something for my birthday anyway, and besides, I didn't want to wait.
So yes, I bought it. That's why my game has a Grim Reaper and, consequently,
a zombie.
I actually really wanted it because of the additional career paths--musician,
journalist, paranormal, and, I think, slacker (whose "career path" starts
with surf shop employee, I think). I really wanted to create
a psychic, but I haven't been able to yet. You can either get a job by
finding an ad in the newspaper or by going online and looking, but there's
only one job listing per day in the paper, and only three on the computer,
and usually my Sims have been too low on money to let any possibility job
opportunity go by. So maybe if you wait a few days, the more interesting
jobs show up. I figure I'll make one of them work really hard for awhile,
and once they get a little money ahead, have them change careers, like I
did.
I took a cue from Karen and created a Cline family--Willa and Bob--and
it really does make things more interesting to play with characters
that represent real people, rather than just random ones. We got a call
last night asking if we wanted to adopt a baby, but I turned them down.
I figure if it happens on its own, that's cool, but I don't think we
could handle the responsibility right now.
We live in the haunted house next to the cemetary, although it's
been redecorated, so it's not quite so spooky. Except for the
ghosts, of course.
Bob said if I could just avoid turning him into a zombie, he'd be
happy.
