Bargain shopping

I had the most fun Saturday! I took myself out to a really nice lunch--I was trying to think where to grab something quick to eat, and trying to think of something that wouldn't totally blow my diet, although I'm not actually sticking to it at the moment--and I thought, oh, why not just get what I really wanted? What I really wanted was Panera Bread, so I went there and had a bowl of potato soup and a turkey sandwich on asiago focaccia, and a chai tea latté that was heavenly. I'm sure it was full of sugar, but oh well. Sometimes you just have to have what you want.

I've found that as long as I hit the gym about three times a week and don't go overboard on bread or pasta, I'm not gaining the weight back, which is a good thing to know. I'd still like to lose a few more pounds, but I imagine I will once the weather warms up for good and I get outside a little more.

Lunch wasn't the fun part, though--I went swimsuit shopping! Unbelievably, even though the pools aren't even open yet, and won't be until the end of the month, Target had a lot of swimsuits on clearance. I hadn't intended to look for one yet, but I couldn't resist the clearance rack, and I ended up with a pretty tropical print maillot with a halter top and matching side-tie-skirt coverup, and this bikini, plus an additional pale blue w/palm tree bikini top, all for under $25.

I'm guessing they're making room for back-to-school even though, you know, school isn't even over yet . . .

I guess it's sort of the same philosophy that has Fourth of July stuff out at JoAnn in place of the Easter decorations.

Not that I actually need swimsuits, although I'll want them next winter when we go to Mexico, if we go, and you can't buy them then, or if you do, they cost a fortune. I couldn't resist getting them at such low prices; I might even get another one when they reduce them the next round.
