I'm upstairs in my house, and I hear a noise that I can't identify, some kind of mechanical noise. It doesn't worry me, though, and so I go about my business. I eventually go downstairs, following Pyewacket, and find our next-door neighbor running a leaf blower or leaf vacuum or something in my living room. I look at him oddly, and he says that he rented it and didn't want to waste it. He wanted to get as much use out of it as he could, so he came over here. I shrug and say, "Okay," and he continues running the machine.

An acquaintance is pregnant, and everyone seems to know but me. I'm in a room with three other friends, and the pregnant one is talking about it, and they're all nodding as if it's no surprise. I'm completely stunned, but don't show it outwardly. I'm eating fruit, strawberries, I think, and I just keep on eating it, and thinking that once I'm alone with my friends I'll ask them if they were surprised by how calm I was. The pregnant one says something about the child "running around in there," and says, "She's awfully happy for a kid that hasn't been born yet."

Bob and I are in a movie theater, a big one with plus red seats. We were waiting for something, but were told that we weren't going to get to see it. We were disappointed, but everyone started moving around and picking up their coats and purses and getting ready to leave. Then suddenly a couple of young women who had been waiting with us came down the aisles with big flashlights, and starting aiming them at people, selecting them. Bob and I still continued to get ready to leave, but then he said that we were chosen, too. I was surprised. We were on the left-end of the aisle, but had to move all the way across to the right-hand side with the rest of the people in the row.

As we reached the end of the row, our friend John was there, but he wasn't chosen, so couldn't go with us. I reached out my hand and hooked one of his fingers with mine as we filed past him.
