Lazy Sunday

Pye and Dinah on Sunday

Just kind of a lazy Sunday. Did some knitting, read a little, did some work, did laundry, didn't leave the house once.

John came over for dinner last night, and Bob was cooking out (although John ended up cooking, since Bob got a phone call and everything else was ready, so John cooked the steaks). Earlier, while Bob was lighting the charcoal (he ran out of gas in the gas grill), we had put Pyewacket's and Dinah's leashes and harnesses on and took them outside.

They were pretty funny. Neither of them especially care for touching the actual yard--they'd much rather keep their precious little paws on the concrete. We carried them out and set them on the grass, though, and Dinah walked over and found the wooden railroad ties that our neighbor has around a flowerbed, and walked on those. Surprisingly, Dinah is much bolder than Pyewacket, who basically froze and didn't want to move.

Dinah hated having the harness put on, but once it was on, she didn't seem to mind it at all.

Today, they spent most of the day lying in the sun in front of the back door. It's cold out again, so the door was closed, but the sun streaming in was warm, and they had a nice nap. Until Pye decided to give Dinah a very vigorous bath, holding her down with one paw while she chewed on her head. Dinah was torn--she loves having her head washed, but Pyewacket was being kind of rough, and when Dinah tried to pull away, Pye would just hold her down more firmly.

I finally intervened before it escalated into a fight. Kids.
