The grass grows by itself

Sitting quietly,
doing nothing.
Spring comes and
the grass grows by itself.

These Spring desktops from the House & Garden Television website make me happy:

Bob was calming me down after some upset last night--I just kind of freaked out about being over-stressed, but it was brief--and he said, "So tell me what you dreamed last night."

I kind of rolled my eyes--Bob being psychiatrist--but I said, "Well, I dreamed I used up all my Post-It notes. My special Post-It notes."

He said, "Uh huh. Well, I have to say that I don't think I've ever dreamed about Post-It notes. In fact, the whole concept of even having "Special" Post-It notes is completely foreign to me. Or, you know, even special pens." He went on: "Your brain must work in an entirely different way than mine." And I said, "And this is a surprise?"

Last weekend I bought the "special" Post-It notes at Target. They were expensive (well, relative to the regular ones anyway). They came in pink, with a poodle design, and lavender with, I think, some kind of Parisian café design, and the ones I bought are lime green with a little Audrey Hepburn-ish woman on a moped saying "Ciao!"

I put them in my new project bag:

Bag

I keep it there for writing down notes on what I'm knitting. Currently, I'm knitting another pair of socks, and the top Post-It reads:

ndls 1.5
CO 60
K 1 row
K1P1 rib 2"
St. st 3"
Rnd heel
Foot 7.5"
Dec for toe til 8 st rem

which is the pattern that I'm making up for the sock--or, rather, that's how I knit the first one, so I wrote it down so I could make the second one the same. (Translation: Needles size US 1-1/2, cast on 60 stitches, work knit 1, purl 1 rib for two inches, then stockinette stitch for three inches for the leg. Make a round heel, then knit 7-1/2 more inches for the foot, then decrease for the toe until 8 stitches remain, then graft the toe.)

I actually loved the Post-It notes so much that I went back to Target to get more, but just couldn't justify the price, which was about twice what the unprinted ones are. So I bought a multi-pack of plain ones in the same color family--lime green without the little cartoon. Almost as good.
