These are cute, though. I like them. I need sandals, too, and tried to make myself like several pair there, but none of them really appealed to me. I have a terrible time buying shoes because I don't really like shoes. So I hate to spend money on them, and everything is sort of a compromise. I think these were like $12.99, though, so at least they were cheap.
My original intention was to buy a couple of boxes of cous-cous, cat food, yogurt, a quart of milk and some American cheese so I could make macaroni and cheese for dinner, and I ended up spending over $100. I guess about $35 worth of clothes and shoes, and probably about that much in trash bags, which I just happened to notice, and decided I should probably go ahead and get. There are three things that Bob requires we always have on hand, and never run out of:
- Trash bags
- Light bulbs
- Toilet paper
He's not particular about kind or size, i.e., if we need a three-way bulb and we only have 100 watt ones, that's not optimum, but it's okay; the same with trash bags--it's better not to run out of the huge ones, but if we at least have small ones, I'm safe. But I try to keep all possible sizes on hand--small ones for kitty litter duty and to line the wastebaskets in the bedrooms and bathrooms, medium ones for the kitchen trash can, and the huge black ones to consolidate the trash when it goes out to the curb. I bought a box of each yesterday, and they're expensive. The kind of thing you can't exactly do without, though.
I woke up in the night with the tiny silver ring I wear in the upper hole in my left ear poking me, having come undone and twisted so that the sharp part that fits into the little socket was actually inside my ear, and it hurt. I tried to fix it, but ended up pulling it completely out of my ear, so rather than try to get it back in, I very carefully (knowing that I was still basically asleep at that point) put it on top of my clock radio.
It wasn't there this morning.
Certainly, I could have missed, but I was really very careful, knowing that it's tiny and easily lost. I'm pretty sure I got it on top of the radio. I moved the radio, though, and looked all over the table, and no earring. My guess is that Dinah found it and either played with it and knocked it off, or ate it, which she is perfectly capable of doing. So I've been worried about it piercing her intestine . . . Hm. Are they doing that yet? Piercing internal organs? That's probably the next step.
