Monday, July 14, 2002: Mooching around

I had a really nice weekend. On Saturday I just ran around and did errands, but the weather was nice, not quite as hot as it has been, so getting in and out of the car was actually kind of enjoyable. I went to Kohl's and bought a couple of pairs of shorts on sale, and a red t-shirt, which I've been wanting, and I went to Borders and bought a couple of paperback books, and I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and bought candles and a new dishwashing sponge and some very cool hot plate pad things that look like huge woven coasters.

And then I went home, and Bob came home from his fishing trip, and we ordered Chinese food for dinner, and then he went to bed early and I stayed up late and read.

On Sunday we got up fairly early, and Bob went out to wash his car and water the landscaping around a couple of his houses, and I worked on the computer for awhile. When he came home, we had a weird, make-do lunch--leftover Chinese food, then , since it wasn't enough, he had a couple of cheap TV dinners out of the freezer (I buy them when they're $1.00 each and stick them in the freezer as emergency food), and I had some instant rice. Then we just kind of messed around in the house--he played a computer game and I read and worked on the computer, and mid-afternoon we got cleaned up and went out to see Men in Black II, which I loved, then had dinner at Panera Bread, and came home for more reading, computer work, and just general lounging around.

It was really nice, just very relaxing and low-pressure, and I loved it.

I made a screenshot of my desktop, and this is how it comes out, because I have two monitors. Weird. (Click on the screenshot to see it larger.)

And a close-up of the icons, because I love them:

The photographs are some that I took in Puerto Vallarta in February, and the icons are from The Icon Factory, but more easily found for download at Apple.
