Okay, so here's the tattoo after leaving the paste on overnight, scraping it off, and anointing it with
olive oil. I stuck my hand in a plastic bag when I took my shower this morning. Probably unnecessary,
but I'd like it to last as long as possible. The woman who did it said it would last "from one to
five weeks," which is a pretty large range.
It's darker up on my finger and it lightens as it goes across my hand and a little way up my wrist.
I guess that's okay, it's just kind of funny. Maybe as long as I don't get a lot of water on the back
of my hand, as I wash my hands, the part on my finger will lighten to match the rest . . .
I probably actually liked the way it looked yesterday better than the way it looks now, but
of course, that was just the henna paste as it was drying. A darker color would be cool, though.
I had it done at the Morocco area of Epcot's World Showcase. Barb had noticed that they were
doing it when she went there on Saturday night and mentioned it to me. She had one done around
her ankle, too. I had a hairwrap done on Sunday; I tried to think of some kind of non-invasive
body modification/beautification I could have done today, but couldn't think of anything. I
did buy some temporary tattoos at the Japanese department store on Monday, so I have
those to fall back on if I need them.
Yesterday afternoon I saw
Off Kilter, a Celtic-Canadian band that plays in the Canadian
pavilion at Epcot. They wear kilts and have a bagpiper, but play rock music. Pretty
interesting, and they're
very good. We had seen them before and really liked
them, but I just kind of lucked onto them yesterday as I was walking past.
I went into the gift shop and bought their CD; I probably should have had it
autographed, I would have had the opportunity, but I'm always shy about doing
things like that. I hate to bother people. But it was fun listening to them.
