On Friday, Dave took off with Cello and Gard to go shopping for new
computers, and after pouting for awhile, Simon decided to hang out
with me for awhile.
I know I was a poor second choice, but any port in a storm.
I also changed desks again on Friday. I was actually using Cello's
desk, and Cello was using the conference table, but we did some
rearranging and he wanted his desk back, and I preferred the L-shape
anyway, so I got one back like I used to have in the other room.
It gave me an opportunity to arrange everything again, and I like
having a little more space. It's a little difficult to get out,
though. I hope the building never catches on fire.
The computer is also Cello's, brought from home so they didn't have
to buy me a new one. We'll be doing all kinds of equipment juggling
over the next few months--he's bringing in a G4 for Julia to use,
and then in a few months we'll buy her a new one and I'll inherit
the G4 and Cello will take the G3 back home. I like it, and I really
love the cinema display.
I brought in a little Christmas tree last week, and decorated it
with tiny birds and glass balls. I especially love the little
silver star that I found for the top. I've had several little
desktop trees over the last few years, but I like this one the
best. It actually looks like a real tree, and I like the base.
I had one last year that sat in an aluminum bucket. Kind of cute,
but not really very realistic.
I moved the ivy off the windowsill; I thought maybe it was too
cold for it. It's going to be interesting when it gets really cold this
winter. The windows aren't very insulated, and when we turn the heat
on, the guys upstairs roast. I'm not sure what the solution is going
to be. For now, I try to remember to take a sweater, and layer.
In website news, I decorated
Barbara Bretton's website for the holidays and
added a new holiday Flash opening page, and
S. L. Viehl is posting a full-length
novel at her site this month, as well as a compilation of the short
stories that have been posted throughout the year, but not archived
until now.
