I've alluded to the fact that I'm working on losing some weight, but haven't discussed it
directly because . . . I don't know. I guess because I've never really wanted to talk about
something so personal. But yeah, I'm trying to do the low carb thing, which, for someone
who up until recently ate very little meat, is pretty difficult. But I'm working at
it, and I've lost about 12 pounds in about six weeks, which I'm happy with.
I read this article a couple of
weeks ago which made me feel much better about my usual yogurt breakfast. It says that
although yogurt generally shows a lot of carbs on the label, if you go for the no-sugar
kind, yogurt is probably actually a good thing to choose to eat. For a long time, I've been
eating Blue Bunny Lite 85, which is sweetened with Splenda, tastes great, and only has
14 carbs as opposed to the regular kinds which have around 30.
My usual flavor is peach, it's the one that I've liked the most consistently, but I bought
a carton of Black Forest this weekend, and I loved it! I was looking for some flavors
that were more like dessert, since I can't really have dessert right now. Black Forest
is chocolate yogurt, which I love, with cherry pieces in it. It was the cherry that I wasn't
too sure about, but it was okay. Definitely okay. I can't remember what other ones I bought;
my store didn't have a huge selection. I'll have to look around at some of the other grocery
stores and see what they have. Piña Colada is an old favorite, but I've never tried
the Lite 85 one. My store didn't have it.
This morning's breakfast was Belfonte Strawberry Cheesecake yogurt. I'm trying to widen
my horizons. It was good, but not as good as the Blue Bunny, a little too bitter.
It's sweetened with aspartame; I think I've become fond of Splenda.
