Goofy

I have a lot of fun changing my desktop wallpaper at work periodically. I don't do it every month, but I do it fairly often. This month, I've got very springlike wallpapers both at home and at work. I especially like the enormous pink peony. I put it on the second monitor at work, the one that sometimes sits idle. That way, if I don't have anything on that monitor, I've got the peony as decoration.

I've actually got three monitors on my desk at work now--two for the Mac, and one for a PC. We had some visitors in the office a week or so ago, and one of them came into my office and said, "Are you worried about radiation at all?"

Cello came in once when I'd just changed my wallpaper, and he asked, "do you have one of those geese on the front porch that have different clothes for every holiday?" I don't, and I said no, and I don't even have a flagpole with different holiday flags, although now that I think about it, Bob thinks they're kind of cool, and we talked about getting one. I just haven't ever done it.

I guess I'm skating close to the edge with the holiday tree thing. I was in a Hallmark store today and saw some really cute Eastern ornaments. There was a duckling with a bouquet of flowers, and a gorgeous carrot that opened up to show a bunny inside. Really nicely made, quality ornaments like the nicer Hallmark Christmas ornaments. I almost bought a couple, thinking we would start a tradition of buying a few each year; then I thought, just hang on a couple of weeks and I'll be able to buy them off the clearance table for half off.

Speaking of desktop wallpapers, I don't think I've mentioned a site that we did for a property company in Hawaii recently; I put some wallpaper images up at their site last week. One of the images is the one I had on my monitor at work throughout February and March. One of the reasons I got through the winter, probably . . .

Dinah has become quite a cuddler. Bob was sitting in my chair holding her tonight, and I snapped a couple of pictures. The goofiness of her posture isn't completely apparent here--even though it looks like Bob's clutching her, she's actually quite relaxed, and he's just supporting her. She's resting her chin on his arm, which was the part that struck me as goofy. Such a funny cat.
