This looks like a really interesting set of "flash card" writing prompts: jamesbickers.com - the Majency Oracle, deck 1. I haven't reviewed it in depth yet, but the provided snippets are very intriguing.

The angel of inspiration (who pays regular visits to some and rarely calls on others) favours the hopeful and the confident, and it is when a writer feels mostly lonely, when he feels most doubtful about his efforts, his dreams, and the value of his writing – when he thinks his story is only his story – it is at such moments that the angel chooses to reveal to him stories, images and dreams that will draw out the world he wishes to build. If I think back on the books to which I have devoted my entire life, I am most surprised by those moments when I have felt as if the sentences, dreams, and pages that have made me so ecstatically happy have not come from my own imagination – that another power has found them and generously presented them to me.

Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper I mean--
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down--
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don't know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

Nice article at Paulo Coelho's Warrior of the Light about Saint Joseph:

In the short introduction I give before the prayer, I usually recall that four of the five times that the word "dream" appears in the New Testament refer to Joseph the carpenter. In all the cases, an angel is always trying to convince him to do exactly the opposite of what he was planning to do.

Lovely:

Sometimes

When they criticize you how do you
hold your wings? I hold mine out
and down, descend a little, then more.
Cool air comes. Nobody cares how low
I descend, and the way my eyes close
makes me disappear. They have their sky again.

So thin a life I have, scribbling dust
when I turn, trailing as if to follow
something inside the earth, something beyond
this place. If I accept what comes,
another sky is there. My serious face
bends to the ground, the dust, the lowered wings.

Here's an angel site I haven't seen before: Angels on the Web - Angel Resources and Art

I'd already been through a conversation with a friend who said the cards were beautiful, but were they tarot cards if the symbolism wasn't traditional? I've been trying not to worry about that, but I thought before I went too far with it I probably better deal with the issue of the court carts. As soon as I got up, I worked on this card again, and found a little Page.

Maybe. I haven't decided yet.

I'm so appreciative of the comments! Thank you.

I didn't really want to use images of people in the cards, because those can easily become too cheesy. But now I'm thinking that the Court cards probably should be people, so I'm not sure what to do. I need to think about that a little more.

And I'm not totally pleased with the Seven of Cups, but that signpost image really did seem perfect . . . The theme, apparently, is travel, although I didn't have that in mind when I started.

There's a message, of course, because the Page is a messenger. The plant symbolizes birth and potential, and something that needs, and can benefit by, nurturing. This Page represents creativity, which can also benefit from nurturing.

The Seven of Cups is about choices, specifically, a wealth of choices. Choices
can represent dreams and desires that can be made manifest, but they can also represent
"castles in the air," and the danger is that with so many choices, one can become
paralyzed and not make any choice at all. Great care needs to be taken to make the right
decision, but some decision needs to be made, or you're just spinning your wheels.
The Seven of Cups indicates that you have great opportunities before you--embrace the
opportunities and make the right choice.
