Okay, I did a quick page for the Tarot stuff last night. It's here: Rare Peace. [ posted by Willa @ 10:14 ] [ link me ] (0) comments ----- February 20, 2005Since this blog has become concentrated on Tarot rather than writing, I've decided to move the Tarot stuff over to a different blog, Rare Peace, and leave this one for my book, "Fallen Angel," and any future writing I do. Maybe other stuff, I don't know, I don't want to limit it, but I do want to move the Tarot stuff. There's nothing there yet, but I'm working on it, and when I get it organized, I'll post the link here. I worked on the page some more this morning, and this is what I ended up with: [ posted by Willa @ 10:50 ] [ link me ] (1) comments ----- February 18, 2005I woke up this morning at about 4:00 worrying about the Page of Cups, isn't that silly? I'd already been through a conversation with a friend who said the cards were beautiful, but were they tarot cards if the symbolism wasn't traditional? I've been trying not to worry about that, but I thought before I went too far with it I probably better deal with the issue of the court carts. As soon as I got up, I worked on this card again, and found a little Page. Maybe. I haven't decided yet. I'm so appreciative of the comments! Thank you. [ posted by Willa @ 14:45 ] [ link me ] (0) comments ----- So now I'm having second thoughts about the Page. I didn't really want to use images of people in the cards, because those can easily become too cheesy. But now I'm thinking that the Court cards probably should be people, so I'm not sure what to do. I need to think about that a little more. And I'm not totally pleased with the Seven of Cups, but that signpost image really did seem perfect . . . The theme, apparently, is travel, although I didn't have that in mind when I started. [ posted by Willa @ 06:23 ] [ link me ] (4) comments ----- February 17, 2005 Next card: the Page of Cups. There's a message, of course, because the Page is a messenger. The plant symbolizes birth and potential, and something that needs, and can benefit by, nurturing. This Page represents creativity, which can also benefit from nurturing.

The Seven of Cups is about choices, specifically, a wealth of choices. Choices can represent dreams and desires that can be made manifest, but they can also represent "castles in the air," and the danger is that with so many choices, one can become paralyzed and not make any choice at all. Great care needs to be taken to make the right decision, but some decision needs to be made, or you're just spinning your wheels. The Seven of Cups indicates that you have great opportunities before you--embrace the opportunities and make the right choice. [ posted by Willa @ 14:03 ] [ link me ] (0) comments ----- February 15, 2005I've begun! Here is the first card, the Two of Cups. I will be creating a new website for the deck, with explanations of what the symbolism means. Clicking the thumbnail will open up a larger version of the card. [ posted by Willa @ 20:41 ] [ link me ] (0) comments ----- February 11, 2005I've decided to try my hand at designing my own tarot deck, so I'm looking for inspiration. I ran across this beautiful deck: Gaian Tarot by Joanna Powell Colbert. Just the Majors only, so far. Really lovely. [ posted by Willa @ 14:12 ] [ link me ] (0) comments ----- |
