Start of the Hero's Journey [ posted by Willa @ 14:01 ] [ link me ] ----- November 22, 2003Very interesting site for mystery writers, especially: The Writers Forensics Medical Lab Link from Pioneer woman with cell phone. [ posted by Willa @ 21:50 ] [ link me ] ----- November 6, 2003One might assume that my silence means that I've been madly writing. One would assume wrong. My silence has been simply that--silence. I've been busy doing freelance work, work work, and being sick. The kind of nebulous symptons (unspecified, intermittant stomach pain) that have had me looking for information on the web and, upon finding some very scary things, closing down the browser and shaking. I'm positive it's nothing serious, probably just stress manifesting itself as stomach pain, which is not unknown in my universe, but worrisome nonetheless. I doubt this novel is going to happen this month. I haven't totally given up on it, but I'm definitely going to let up on the pressure on myself, and then we can see what happens. [ posted by Willa @ 10:07 ] [ link me ] ----- I was really unhappy with what I had done so far, so rather than keep plodding along, I scrapped most of it and started over. I know that this month is supposed to be about quantity, not quality, but I knew I'd never finish it if I kept remember how it started, so I think if I do it this way I'll have a better chance of actually doing it. Onward and upward. And what the heck. I might as well post it. There's nothing there yet, but later tonight the link over on the right will work. The working title is "Wings." [ posted by Willa @ 09:59 ] [ link me ] ----- November 3, 2003February 4, 1998 -So easily swayed: "Bob came in earlier this evening and said that he knew what he wanted from me for Christmas. He wants a short story. He specified a mystery story involving books and a cat. An assignment. I'm not sure about that . . . but yeah, I can see it. It would have to be magical, though. A story of magical realism about a bookstore cat. Named Pyewacket . . . " [ posted by Willa @ 13:24 ] [ link me ] ----- November 2, 2003It's November 2, and I'm just now deciding that I really do want to try to write another novel this month. I haven't gotten very far, but I'll give it a shot. Yesterday was kind of a lost day, just because I worked out, ran a bunch of errands, then had dinner with some friends. Today I ended up doing a lot of freelance work, so the weekend was kind of shot. We'll see how next week goes. [ posted by Willa @ 22:29 ] [ link me ] ----- |
