1/20/97 - Web Dreams

I was working on this dream page, and when I hit the return key on the keyboard I was taken to another page and I couldn't figure out how I got there. I went back and tried to recreate what I had done, and it happened again. I eventually figured out that when I was looking at one of my dreams, if I hit "return" the computer automatically interpreted my dream for me. If I put the cursor on a specific word or phrase and hit "return," I received an interpretation of just that portion of the dream. I thought this was pretty clever and made a mental note to come back and try it again when I had more time.

Interpretations of "Web Dreams:"

PERHAPS A SIMPLE ANXIETY DREAM. I WOULD ASSUME THAT KEEPING UP A JOURNAL, DREAMS, AND A WEB SITE IS A TIME CONSUMING TASK. THE POSSIBILITY THAT INFORMATION CAN BE LOST IS REAL. THE ANXIETY OF THE DREAM IS WELL FOUNDED. SOMETHING I READ MENTIONED THAT MANY ANXIETY DREAMS ARE, IN FACT, THE OPPOSITE. YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR DATA PROCESSING, YOU MAY BELIEVE DEEP DOWN THAT ALL IS WELL AND NOTHING CAN BE LOST OR FORGOTTEN. WHAT DO I KNOW... I BELIEVE MY ANXIETY DREAMS!!!

I found this dream very interesting Willa, because it is telling you the same thing I was trying to tell you the other day. That you are your own best source for information regarding your dreams. The computer and web represent your connection (via your higher self) and your attempt at outreach to the universal consciousness (known as the akasha). We all have the ability to tap this source of information. As shown in the dream, if you allow your higher self to lead you to new places (the unexpected web page in your path) you will discover heretofore unknown abilities within yourself. Being able to obtain an interpretation of the entire dream as opposed to only a part of the dream shows how the information you obtain from other person's interpretations,(including mine) while valuable, is still incomplete compared with what you yourself can obtain through the study of self and your higher consciousness. It also is illustrative of how aspects of dreams are active at several levels at once and that by examining each single aspect of the dream through your experience with that particular symbol and it's relationship or personal meaning to you, you widen your understanding of the entire dream. Thus your higher self is telling you that you need not settle for second best when you can go to the highest source for aid and assistance

1/15/97 - A tree in the way

Bob and I were living in my parents' house. We were having a contractor put an addition on, and they were working on it while I was away from the house. When I came back home I saw that they had chopped down a large tree, one of my favorites, because it was in the way. Not in the way of the addition, but apparently in an inconvenient location to where the workmen wanted to stand. I was furious and went and told Bob. He was angry, too, but when I told my mother, who I expected to be sympathetic, she didn't seem to think it was important.

Interpretations of "A tree in the way":

WHAT DOES THE TREE SYMBOLIZE? THE TREE OF LIFE, THE FAMILY TREE? JUST A TREE? IT SEEMS THAT THE REMOVAL OF THE TREE BY OUTSIDE, NON FAMILY, MEMBERS MAY BE THE KEY TO THIS DREAM. BECAUSE THE HOUSE WAS BOTH A CHILDHOOD AND A CURRENT HOME, PERHAPS THE DREAM REFLECTS ON AN ISSUE THAT OCCURED IN CHILDHOOD AND IS CARRIED OVER INTO THE PRESENT. I CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT SIGNIFICANT SYMBOL WAS REMOVED FROM YOU, BUT PERHAPS YOUR MOTHER DOES OR DID NOT SHARE IN THE TREE'S PURPOSE.

I feel this *mother/archetype* figure is the originator of this dream, and that these *workmen* are to be considered co-aspects of her as well. To me this *tree* is the representation of *your* emotions, and that this archetype's apathetic attitude for the loss of this tree is exemplifying the typical disregard for a dreamer's emotions that is so often displayed by archetypes. I've personally noted that, in many of my dreams, *emotional* aspects are often-times down-played or disregarded by archetypes, so this is obviously one of their very common attributes. I wouldn't take this dream literally as with suggesting something personal about your feelings of your mother, but rather, consider assuming that archetypes have the ability to remain completely separate from experiencing the actual *emotion* ...and, yet, still capable of understanding them. This, then, should lead to realizing that archetypes would possess the upper-hand in generating dream content. Let's face it: If archetypes can abstain from becoming involved integrally with the affects of emotions, then they should be pretty-well in control! The poor dream-I, then, is merely left pondering like this in the middle of it all!
